radiator problems
my radiator has a hole in it which my friend patched up for me. i put coolant and water in there and the engine still gets real hot after a few minutes and smoke starts coming out of the radiator someone told me it might be the temperature clamp or something does anyone know what is wrong?
steam out of the radiator is normal if you have the cap off, otherwise, causes for over heating could be air in the system since you did have a hole in the radiator, a stuck thermostat, or a fan that isn't cutting on.
Jared is correct and you might also have overheated when you got the hole initially and cracked the head.
Change or repair the radiator first. A good radiator shop might be able to repair the one you have by changing the tank that was damaged (depending where the hole is).
