What's the recommended way of racing with an automatic? Just leaving on it 4th or what? I just want info so I can race for fun on the streets.

Also if you're going from a stop press the brake in hard and give it some gas so it rev's up then let off the brake when you wanna go and mash on it.

I was told the REAL secret to racing in an automatic. Here's the secret:

Put the car in N (N is short for NOS), floor it, and you'll never lose

put a 50 shot on it with exhaust and itll run a 15.4 @ 90 mph, i used to have an auto in my 92, switched it for a LS trans that i put a quaife LSD in and LSVTEC conversion. Now it only runs as fast as the auto w/ spray on the motor: 15.4 @ 92.
But back on spray she is a whole new beast. laugh if you want but 13.8 @ 100, weighing 2900 lbs. i was kinda geeked.

many ppl will say that racing in an automatic is gay but many drag racers use automatics..... so its not impossible.

This is mainly the case for bracket racing... for consistency(sp)

im surprised this didnt recieve as many flames as i thought it would after i read it. if you look in other threads youll see im not against street racing but the way you phrase it gives the impression your gonna pull some dumbass **** like light-to-light. basically dont do that, if your not racing in a structured environment (track or street) just dont man...
