quick help please. Overheating
i'm am overheating, when i turn the vents on cold or hot. if i leave the vents off then the car seems to be fine. I just installed a transmission cooler yesterday, and the coolant drained out, but it poured it all back in to the radiator. Any idea what is going on ?
it should, i mean what ever came out went back in. its not leaking either. should i take off te raditor cap and pour more water in there? The weird part is, the temp only goes up when the vent/ac/heater is turned on

don't you need MORE fluid than stock and just what came out because of your new cooler and the extended lines and what not? I'm NOT familiar w/ how your cooler works so if this is not the case then sorry.. but if it hooks up to the existing cooling system and shares the same fluid.. then won't you need more since you just added some extra components (hoses, the cooler, etc...)...
also did you bleed the system to get all the air out? I hope that container you used to catch the stuff that came out was clean.. if I had my cooling system apart I would have just drained everything and started off w/ a clean flush w/ new antifreeze and water (50/50)...

what do you guys mean by bleed? The transmisson cooler is like an extra add on. Fluid use to go from the transmission to the bottom of the raditor and out from the bottom of the radiator then back to transmission. Now it goes from trans to radiator back out from radiator to transmission cooler, then back to the transmission itself. The colant came out from the bottom right(looking at it from the front bumper) it was from inside the radiator when i was taking the transmission hose out. If i did bleed it ten what can i do to fx this problem ?
like I said.. and from your description.. you added another component and added more piping and components... so the cooling system as a whole may need more fluid to circuilate since you added hoses/tranny cooler and what not and it might need a larger capacity of fluid to circulate.... I dont have one of these units so I'm not sure.. correct me if I'm wrong.. but to me it makes sense... more components, more piping.. maybe you have inadequate fluid to circulate..
there is a bleeder screw to bleed out the air from the coolant.. but from another thread I've learned that that on some years.. I forget when they changed the design.. the bleeder screw was taken out/omitted... if you have a bleeder screw then loosen it a bit and the air bubbles will bubble out.. let it bleed until a steady stream trickles/flows out...
f you don't have the screw you can also undo the top of the radiator cap when theres no pressure and start it... turn your HEATER (HOT) on full blast and let the car run to operating temp and the fans come on.. now add coolant SLOWLY to the radiator/filler neck as needed until its full....
