Quick Header install question!
I am installing my header this weekend. Do I need a torque wrench to do this? Also, can I get some new gaskets at pep boy's or autozone, or will I have to get them somewhere else? Some help would be appreciated. Thanks.
The bolts/nuts at the head should be torqued to 23 ft-lbs. As for the gasket, I've reused both and had no problem, but I usually prefer to at least replace the donut gasket. A Honda or Acura dealer should both the manifold and donut gaskets.
Mr. Gasket makes a copper exhaust manifold gasket which is suppose to seal really good but, If you are low on cash just re-use your stock gasket. I've never torqued them down. I just snug them down then turn a 1/4 turn .
I really wouldnt say you need to have a torque wrench either. I just torque em down pretty tight, not overly tight, and I havent had problems or anything for 2 years. I wouldnt say a torque wrench is really detrimental.
