Default Quick engine question...

Hey Guys:

My buddy is buying a 2000-2001 integra GSR, hes wondering how he can tell for sure that it is a GSR, cause alot of people are dropping GSR engines in GS's. What is the engine code on the GSR engines? How else could he tell if its a GSR? Do GSR's only come with leather interior?? thnks guys

Look at the motor and B18C should be stamped, or if the vin plate is on there then you could use that to identify the motor.

you gotta look for the sunroof, the gsr blades, the badge on the rear, and do a search on carfax with the vin #.

sunroof, blases, and bading mean nothing.

I have a sunroof in my LS. You could just switch wheels, and lots of people just remove the badging, or add it to non vtec equipped cars. The B18C stamp and the vin is the real way to tell.

yea I know its not for sure way to tell, but most people wont go thru the trouble to swap a whole bunch of stuff so there good to look for at first, gsr blades are the wheels that come on gsr's.

This is a VIN of a GSR - JH4DC2392YS001924

This is a VIN of an LS - JH4DC4464WS000903

This is the VIN of a Type R - JH4DC231X1S000827

Just to give you an Idea of what to expect when comparing VIN's.

The engine code is B18C1, look for p72 stamped on the head and B18C1 on the block.
