Question for a gsr tranny
hey i am about to buy a tranny from a guy on ht and was wondering if there was anyway to tell for sure if the tranny is a gsr, not an ls or b16. he sais its got 96k on it and has no shifts no grinds for only 300 shipped. i think thats kinda cheep considering its a gsr. lmk what you guys think. thx

Sounds too good to be true. Does he have a good reputation or are you jumping the gun because you thinking you're getting a crazy good deal? I'd be careful. You can't tell what it is without running it in a car and watching the revs, or by counting the teeth on the gears.

Well almost all USDM Integra transmissions are stamped S80, so it can be hard to tell. Short of taking it apart and counting the # of teeth on the ring gear, there's no way to be completely sure. Make sure the guy has some sort of paypal/ ebay feedback or some way you can trust him.
