question???
got my timing belt replaced about 10 thousand miles ago but dident change the cam seals at the time because they looked fine. Now one of them is leaking, to replace them do i have to loosen the tensioner to have some slack on the belt then take of the cam gear or can i just loosen the cam gear and slide it off the belt? thanks
the cam seal is on the left side not the side with the belt. and to change it u have to take the valve cover off and loosen the cam cap that the cam seal is inside of. pull it out and put the new one in and tighten cap to 21 ft pounds put valve cover back and everything else and ur done. if u have any more ? write back
Not too sure what there called cam seals, camshaft seals their seals that sit behind the cam gears. Somebodys gotta know what am talking about, I might of named it wrong but, Thought i made myself clear when i was explaining it in the area that they would be located in.
You will need to loosen the timing belt, and remove the cam gear, etc. This is a diagram from a DC2. The seals are part #24.
