Default Purchasing a used block, Need input.

I'm rebuilding a GSR Block.

I'm considering purchasing this used 96 gsr short block.
Since mine is gone, crank and rod is gone.

What kind of worries me is that the cylinder walls looks like
its rusted. Should I even bother check it out?

I need to get the car running by this weekend.

take it to a machine shop if you're worried about it and get them to check it out and hone it.

I'm trying to avoid as much downtime as possible and it being in a machine shop would be two weeks that I don't have.

Anyone thing that this block is usable?

Definitely needs a hone. You don't want to buy a used block without sending it to a machine shop anyway. You have no idea what condition the rest of the block is in. If you don't have time to do it right you won't have time to do it twice.

with a block rusted like that you're going to need a hone at the bare minimum. the rust isn't going to just disappear.
