Pulling Motor
I recently wrecked my 97 gsr and I'm going to be selling the motor/tranny. I'm hoping to find a tech article or walkthrough on how to pull the motor. What parts (tb, im, ecu, headers, etc.) are usually sold with the motor? Easier to drop it out the bottom or get a cherry-picker? Thanks in advance.

It's possible to take it all out at once, but I'd say, take the tranny off first, out the bottom, and then pull the motor out the top with a cherry picker.
There really isn't much to pullin it out. I've taken mine out several times by just taking the mounts off, take the exh. mani off, alternator, unbolt the axle from the back of the block, take off crank pulley and all belts, and from there it's pretty much wiggle it out of the engine bay.
The only thing that needs removed to take the tranny out are the starter, misc. wires, and axles really.

If it's possible, take it through the bottom. A lot easier and you can do it in one peice.
If you take it through the top, separate the tranny from the engine.
only thing I could find: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=252939

point made...but remember...in order to take it out through the bottom, you have to lift the car high enough to get it out! sometimes that can be a problem.

WOAH! I think its way easier to pull the engine/tranny out as one piece. There is a hook on the tranny and on the right side of the engine. Use a chain longer on the tranny side and the whole thing pulls out waaaay easier than pulling the tranny first.

I have pulled and helped pull several engines, and I have also removed trannies w/ engine still in the car.
It is easier to remove it as one piece. The hardest part is the spring pin on the shift linkage, but you can just leave that on and remove the engine/tranny w/ the linkage still attached. That's what we did with my friend's 98 CX.

pull out through the top real easy. you can take on tranny bolt ut and us it to hold your chain and the other end there is a bolt in the head that you can use for the other side. ten you just need do take out mounts and main harness. i did mine in 40 minutes by myself.
