Pulling a GSR motor from a GSR...
Dear H-T:
Might seem like a stupid question.... but....
I need to pull the block from a GSR... already has the head off, but I only need to pull the block. I was trying to cut costs and not rent a cherry picker by disconnecting the block from the tranny and just lifting it, but I cannot seem to seperate them ( I might be missing something here) All the tranny bolts are off as well as the engine mounts.
So do I need to take off the hub and drive axle to detach the tranny to pull the block (is is absolutely necessary ?)
Blocked by a block,
X2

The center halfshaft coming out of the driver side of the differential is bolted to the block. You will need to unbolt and remove the center shaft, and probably the driver side axle... you will also need to drain the transmission fluid.
Oh yeah, if ur planning on pulling the tranny apart from the block, don't forget the two starter bolt (which goes through and also attaches your tranny to the block). hth.
