Now, you say you pulled the spark plug out, I'm assuming the wires......you did remember to put the wires back in right? I'm just kidding......lol......I can't see how that could of caused you to not be able to start back up....maybe you engine is flooded with fuel because there was no spark?....

You're locked out of your car, yet your able to pop the hood? And did you remove the whole spark plug, or just remove the wire?

no one here can tell you whether or not you can do something. I don't know if you can do simple math or even bbq a steak so how would we know if you have the mechanical knowledge to change a coil pack?
Step 1) Remove plug wires from distributor cap, be sure to remember their order
Step 2) Mark distributor position vs location on the swivel opening on the head (bad term but you'll see it). That makes it so your timing will be about the same when you put it back on.
Step 3) Find 3 bolts and remove your distributor.
Step 4) Find more bolts on distributor to remove the cap.
Step 5) If you can get away with taking the coil out without taking out the rotor, do so. If you have to take out the rotor then mark it's location too.
Step 6) Change coil
Step 7) put everything back together.
Becareful not to cross wires, try to jam the distirbutor 180 degrees out, line it up for timing, etc.
Good luck.

sounds like a possible prank to do on unsuspecting commuters waiting at the light.
forgot what sensor under the hood on the intake manifold that instantly shuts the car down...oh well

You need to check what has been reccomended in this thread, "check your coil and fuses"

So you disconnected the spark plug wire, car was still running, then you removed a spark plug and the car turned off? Reinstalled everything, now car won't start?
First check all your fuses, ignition, ecu, backup, etc.
Then check for spark, have someone crank over the motor while you place an insulated screwdriver tip close to the spark plug while if no spark, then check your coil.
To check your coil, either take it off and have someone at autozone, kragen, etc, check the resistance for you, or do it yourself if you have a manual and a DVOM.

Won't you get shocked holding onto the spark plug wire while it is running?and why didn't you just pull the ecu fuse or something? I still can't beleive you had all the time to go get tools etc to pull a spark plug but didnt just jimmy your lock to turn your car off.
dont use the screw driver. thats to dangerous. just put the plug back in the wire and lay it on top your valve cover. just dont touch an metal part on the car or you could get shocked
If you had the time to do all this, you should've just taken your intake off and covered the throttle body.
Sorry for being the millionth person to tell you what you should've done haha.
