getting your car impounded in CA is expensive;
$35 per day parking
130 for towing
120 for release paper
plus tax

i know cuz i got my car impounded before

that sucks, been there except back in 96' they weren't that aware of "imports" . i feel in the long run it's a lose lose situation. i been through all of that. they're cracking down on racing in cali specially elk grove, because of the casualties that come along with street racing. if you don't want the hassle of cali living flip it back to stock then you don't have to worry bout thieves, smog, refs, judges, towing, cops or the fines that come with having a "modded" car. just speaking from experience. my solution was a 636 & cbr. 6+ years no harrasment. quicker than majority of any car out there. zero mods. zero harrasment. but ultimately the choice is yours. good luck hope it all pans out for you.

another reason why RHD in north america = stupid
and for the guy that said tell them your motor was messed so you put in a b20, its still illegal

thats like saying my cable wasnt working properly so i replaced it with illegal satellite... or something like that lol

hopefully it all works otu for you... i would never have anything illegal in my car if cops are as harsh as people say in cali.. measuring your drop and you cant have CAI in your car and stuff... thats messed

here in vancouver, BC the only thing you cant do to your car is have tint (sucks but not as bad as all the other **** in cali)... except here we get raped on insurance so you guys are lucky about that

Legally you can't 'touch' the VINs.

Once you do conversion, tow the damn thing to CHP to get a new VIN assigned to the car.

so all this work to look cool and be rhd has bitten you, you do know 99.9999% of the population could even care about a rhd DA integra, what exactly was the point of doing this when the only ppl that care is the .0001 percent of the "honda" crowd and cops?

this is the reason i quit the "scene" its to much trouble here, do what i did and just get a sport bike ahha.

i dont get why kids swap k series motors or any illegal motor in a honda it ALWAYS makes me think "ok what happens in two years when you have to smog"

i have my smog license so i never have to worry about it but then again i dont fix up hondas no more

1. As stated before, your motor swap is illegal
2. Also as stated before, any modifications to any VIN tags is also illegal. Since you don't have one on your firewall anymore and you re-rivited the VIN tag onto the dash, you're screwed.

Swap in a B18a and you'll be fine with the state ref. As far as the whole VIN thing, nothing you can do other than get new VIN stickers. I believe you can have your car inspected by the CHP and they can produce the sticker for you.

Its not that hard to check the block stamp since there isn't anything covering it

So you quit the scene but still lurk around here?

K swaps are awesome....smog is an easy fix, just gotta have connections.

20 bucks at the Vietnamese Auto shop here and you pass smog ! ;D but your situation sucks, I'd just sell it and get something else. Too much of a hassle dealing with all of that. The fines are going to bite you in the ***.

hey guys sry havent answered internet got cut off well let me start off by saying this ... the police has a paper stating what honda blocks are for what car and if the motor is japanese i dono they've gotten smarter ... watch out guys in burbank, ca

okay next i had court on the 18th of march this is how it went :
after staying the whole day at court house 830am to 430 pm trying to resolve my case they came to this conclusion: if the detective that is holding my car releases it i can go to the chp to get the blue tag identification and have it to chp specs meaning i have to ref it.
and pay a $380 fine ..

if the detective doesnt release it, it means crush time i have no other option

i have court again on april 15th to tell the court if i got the car back

DO NOT take your car to chp to get a new vin after you do the rhd conversion right there and then they will take your car from you and you'll never see it again. you messed with the vin and you removed the only vin on the chassis verifying your car so now they cannot issue you a new vin period and impound your vehicle, and yes tampering with your vin is a federal offense

i took time called 9 dif chp offices and came up with the same info over & over again and trust me did my home work and took me about 2 months trying to figure this out some times using dif names and cars so they would get suspicious

heres the mos recent thread on this that i semi-started

http://www.team-integra.net/se...eDESC

i am all most 99% sure it will be crushed

i wish you luck but it s doesn't look to good

Damn I'm glad I don't live in Cali, cause they'll bust you for anything. I'm in the process of finishing up my RHD Prelude, and hopefully the cops around here don't try and bust my ***** about driving it around. In TX, a lot of the cops don't really mess with out unless if they just know your car or if you're just doing stupid ****. They don't make you pop your hoods or anything like that.
