yes, ive had this problem too... but my short shifter broke and i have to run the stock one, which doesnt get hot like the short shifter, i thought it was because it was closer to the exhaust which is RIGHT underneath it

That is probably your problem. The shifter is against the exhaust pipe and it gets really hot... It happens to a lot of people with short shifters

The fact that the exhaust pipe is right below the shifter, plus the fact that the DC sports shifter is aluminum, is why it gets hot. My AutoZone shifter gets hot, too, but it's no big deal. Had it over 2 years now and it still shifts wonderfully.

B&m short shifter works great, no heating up.. it just rattles and i need a ball joint. Anyway, just replace the shifter with another company and problem is solved

How much rattling? I just want to know because I'm about to buy one. Does it get frustrating?
And how much did you pay for you B&M? Did it come with everything it needed to be installed?

the rattling is annoying at first, but i got used to it and after i got exhaust i don't ever hear it anymore. I got it from a friend for $30 but i am sure you can find them on e-bay or get a local shop to order it for you cheap.
