Default Power Package from Modacar?

Hey, was wondering what kind of gains this whole powerpackage from modacar would bring to a stock 140 hp Integra LS. I would also incorporate a boost upgrade (to 8 psi) on the JRSC. Lemme know what you guys think. I live in Southern Cali, so I'm not sure if I should go Turbo or JRSC sicne I have smog checks and such. Turbo wise I am looking at the Rev Hard Stage II. Anyways, let me know!

Power Package #11
-AEM cold air Intake
-DC Sports 4-2-1 Header
-DC sports or Greddy Evo Cat-Back Exhaust
-Jackson Racing Supercharger. (other upgrades purchased seperatly)
$3,559 + tax and shipping

What you guys think? I'm looking to break into the 200 hp range with this. Not looking for all out power, so I'm hoping it will do the trick. Might go with a different exhaust though. Anyways, let me know what you think I should do. thanks! -Matt

Your on the right track with your non-vtec Integra. Depending on how old/the actual condition of your motor, you may be better off doing a complete swap for that price. It's not great to push a whole lot of air into the lungs of a 100k mile old motor, but if your motor has good compression and is virtually leak-free I'd say go for it. Supercharging is a much easier route than turboing and with those other power mods, I can safely say you'll be into the 200whp range. Check out http://www.importreview.com for dyno charts that include turbo'd and supercharged motors. Good luck!

the car is only going to have from 30k to 50k miles on it. It'll be in good condition. Thanks! just wanted to know. Looks like I'll go that route =]

Definitely go turbo. JRSC'd LS setups are not too productive...you'll be pushing it to reach 200whp, and spending more money than you would to get much more power with a turbo setup.

$3600 for 180whp isnt a good deal IMO.

but how do you suppose I get around smog checks and emissions? Cali is a mother f*cker when it comes to emissions checks. and I don't have a hook up to mass a smog check. Any ideas?

Im pretty sure the GREDDY kit passes emissions. Id go a turbo route def. over the JRSC on your LS. You could def. make decent power with the 18G Greddy kit.

Yea, Greddy kit is CARB but thats only if you run without a BOV and without an intercooler. Where is the fun in that? I'd only be able to blow 6lbs of hot air, and have more lag than the supercharger would. Unless you get the stuff that makes it not street legal, it is just about the same thing as a JRSC wouldn't it be? I dunno, decisions decisions hehe

yeah i would go with a greedy kit since you have to worry about a smog test and then you can turn the boost up when youre racing...

if you were going to run a JRSC at 8psi, id definately opt for a 2.5 inch exhaust. Plus greddy mufflers have been known to blow out at 10kish miles.

You can build a custom 2.5inch exhaust for cheaper than a greddy cat back.

that performance package is a ripoff. im selling my exhaust at the moment for $300 shipped; its full polished stainless steel but that dont matter all that much to you because you live in a snow/salt free state . check my sig for all kinds of **** that you can easily afford.

Oh yeah, and the price will be close to 1/3 cheaper than the prices that you have.

ic "unit" itself doesnt consume air; air goes through one tube into the chilly intercooler then the now chilled air goes out the tube connected on the other side of the intercooler and into your intake manifold.

i think thats right (intake filter -> turbo -> intercooler -> intake manifold); never personally owned a turbo car ... yet .

Stay away from modacar....they have horrible service.....they even jack their distributors around. Take a look at http://www.landspeedracing.com instead...much nicer people and they used to have some killer deals on upgrade packages.

Yea, not gonna go with modacar. Also, I'm now torn between the JRSC and a turbo kit (much like the rest of the world is lol) i think it really comes down to what kind of car i get. If I get a GSR, i'll go JRSC, but if I get an LS I'll go with the turbo kit. Probably Rev Hard or FMAX. Either way, I know I'll be happy with what I do, so I'm not really worried about it all that much. I looked into Vortech SC's last night, but they just suck...
