Default Possible Starter Problem?

I've noticed lately, when i'm driving then stop real fast like get gas or something, my car will not crank up and I'd need to wait for 5-10 minutes before it would crank. If I start the car up, and then die out (sometimes I wear work shoes and it's hard to step on the clutch properly) I would not be able to start it up again and would then have to wait a lil while. There's still power when I turn it on, the headlights work properly. Also, I noticed that lately it's gettin worse and worse. It's takin longer and longer for me to be able to crank it. Yesterday, my friend helped me out by usin jumper cables to start the car and it cranked fine. What do you guys think? And if it is the starter, how much would it cost me to get it fixed?
