Default piston to valve clearance.LSV

i was just wondering if im going to hit the piston with .040 shaved in the head, p30 pistons, and 2 layer gasket?? need info asap!!! thanks!! its a b16 head

For custom stuff like that you need to clay the engine. I don't know how common this setup is but I doubt someone will have this exact setup and just happen to come across this thread and tell you. Lay some clay where the valves would be likely to hit the pistons, put it together, and manually slowly turn the engine over and see if it'll even let you turn it over with out hitting, and see how close the valves get at their lowest positions to the piston tops. There's a certain clearance you want to leave as a 'buffer', I forgot what it is.
