Are your radiator fans working? Let the car idle and watch it for like 5 min after reaching normal operating temperature. Then watch the fans and see if they activate. I had the same problem, and mine was a bad fan power connection. I got a new connector and my car stayed at normal temp.

usually signs of: Bad thermostat
Worn Head Gasket
Bad Water pump
Or even air getting into the system

speaking of air in the system. when u drained and filled it back up. did u leave the rad cap off and let it warm up and boil over? u can try that to get the air out. hope its not a water pump. thats the kinda thing u only wanna have to do when u plan on it, with the timing belt at a given mileage

hope u get it fixed

or u can just bleed it w/ the bleeder screw. Id say check your fans first, its the easiest thing to do and to replace over a water pump and head gasket.

yea, but the cap is on top, less work. also that will work on all cars - without having bleeder screw

did you try squeezing the return hose into the rad? Sometimes you can squeeze them and it will remove the air pockets in the system itself.

use the bleeder screw after reaching operating temperture, leave the cap off until the fans turn on and make sure that the coolant level is full. Also if you see bubbles flowing in the radiator (cap off) then you know you have a blown head gasket. Also the oil may have a white milky substance which is the coolant mixing with the oil.
