Default Overheating Problems

My car tends to slightly overheat at idle (temp gauge slowly passes halfway and farther) but as soon as I drive or turn the heat on the temp drops. What could be possible problems? Could I have a blown headgasket? I can drive the car for a while before it starts to overheat.

Also, I just started to notice a noise (sort of high-pitched) when I press the gas, but as soon as I let off the noise goes away. Any thought to what that might be?

Start with the easy, inexpensive things like changeing the thermostat and see if that helps.

check that, and also check to see that your fans are kicking on when they are supposed too. if not, then you may wanna check the fan switch. if your fans dont kick on, and your car starts to over heat, you're gonna blow either some hoses, or your radiator. also, do not drive it anywhere if it starts to get too hot- it will really damage your engine.

Hondas and Acuras are notorious for having problems with the fan relays, check those in your front bumper

maybe you need a larger intercooler or your intercooler's not functioning properly.
