well those number sound about right.. and No if the head gasket was blown it shouldnt have those number it be pretty low if your head was blown.

 

hmmm im not sure if u check this but u change out the top of your radiator cap. cause if that not holding pressure then your car can over heat as well.. i know its simple but that over look alot and for sure that can cause your car to over heat as well.

 

I am getting a rad cap tomorrow to see if that is the problem, if it is not then I will most likely change the head gasket.

 

take it and get it checked to see if the coolant system is holding pressure. Aside from the radiator cap, the plastic tanks and filler necks on honda radiators are pretty well known for cracking with age. Its cheap to have a mechanic pressurize it and see if it holds, definately do that before the head gasket.

 

I would bleed the air again....
1. take the rad cap off
2. turn your control temp switch to hot
3. let engine idle for 15 mins.
4. close cap.

make sure the front of the car is park incline a little higher then the back.

Also check for leaks at the reservoir, it may be crack at the top, and it will suck in air instead of water.

 

I will do that next, I filled up the radiator twice in the beginning of the week, cause I will still overheating, it has been 3 days now and I havent had to add any more coolant yet, and no overheating since.

 

i'm having literally the exact same problem, i replaced both of the temp switches and my thermostat and nothing has come from it. it will drive fine on trips just like yours, except my exhaust makes a pop sound sometimes while im driving and the engine like bogs down for a sec every once in awhile. Im gettin it pressure tested tomorrow cuz they think its the headgasket. not looking forward to that

 

I am pretty sure it is my headgasket as well, I was trying to avoid it at all costs but I don't think I have any other choices. I am still going to do the hydrocarbon test to see if there is any oil in my coolant first.

 

got a call today apparently there is a coolant leak inside my engine, which means it could be a warped cylinder or maybe a crack in my block.

 

well im havein the same promblem but a little diffrent check it. my car got a new head gaskit,and thermostat it dosnt over heat right a way but when i drive for a while it dose its a new block but it leaks out a lil at the hose witch is under the throttlebody. i dont get it at all. I been work on this car for a few weeks and spent more money then i have well its a( 94 civic 4 door with an b18a1) need helpppp

I will be doing the head gasket this weekend, I will let you know the results.

 

make sure since it overheated to resurface the head because it will be warped from being overheated.

Have you checked your ECT (Engine Coolant Temperature) sensor? How about the ECT Sending Guage? I'm not sure what you're driving but I have a 93 LS. Is the Fan Switch separate from these? It's hard for me to understand if people are saying "fan switch" when it's actually the ECT, or if "fan switch" is the real name...?
