I heard Optima discontinued the "51" series batteries due to premature failure issues. I had one that went bad in a fairly short order. I just replaced it with a Interstate.

i got me an Odyssey MJ680T for like $120 shipped for like 3 months now. Half the weight of a normal battery with plenty of cranking amps, and i'm running a 1200 watt Memphis Amp and RE audio 12 inch sub, without a capacitor. My optima just like most people took a dump on me after like 2 months with the same amp. They all got recalled and from what i heard are no longer being made because the Optima plant is concentrating on the 34/78 red tops to send to the middle east. THe military uses them for their 50 caliber turrets.
