OMNI adjustable springs...

i know omni's full coilover systems are good but how about these?

purchased some for my 94 eg hatch, its alright, way better than the cracked maxspeeds that came w/ the car. i dont like the coilover ride quality in general though, i prefer springs they feel smoother. but for a coilover, i think it feels kind of good, bouncy but not too much.

they make some nice springs but id say away from Tokico Illuminas i have hear to many bad things about them. my buddy as replaced 2 of them because they keep blowing out finally he cowboyed up and got ground controlls and koni, thats a good set up also or eibach and kyb-agx look into to thoses 2 step ups also man. peace

im not gonna slam it. 1 finger gap drop. i just dont want too bouncy of a ride. i have the eibach sportlines but i dont like how the front drop.

sportlines are low as ****! get the prokit one finger gap all around that how my 95 LS was the konis and the kybs wount be a horriable boncy trip, but if u are riding on lowering springs with stock shocks u will bounce around

Well you could also get the SS Damper from TEIN. They have the same spring rates but non - adjustable, but you get pillowball mounts and only $850 + shipping from Option Imports. I think there are some deals going on around here too.

wow 850? thats way out of my range.. i only wanna spend like 200ish because my shocks are still good. i was just wondering if the omni adjustable springs were any good? they are pretty cheap

My opinion is that those knd of coilovers produce a lot of chatter and a real rough ride. Rough in a bad way.
I guess like the more you lower any coilover where you can't control the preload of the spring....you will increase? the preload hence having less stroke when hit hard. This I believe increases bump steer which is bad.

is 448 lb's in the front & 336 lb's in the rear going to be a harsh ride? i like stiff rides but not hella stiff

Tein says that you can go 2k high in spring rates without revalving the dampers. So you could do that if you want it stiffer. $50 per spring.
Also the dampers are valved to match the springs so they work great as a system. Look at it this way: Alot of people look at suspension as far as street/drag. They want higher spring rates in the rear to reduce squat. 10kF 12kR. This would be good for drag and auto-x and drifting (as much as you can do in a FF). But for canyons, circuit, and hard street you want a stiff front to reduce understeer and a softer rear to reduce oversteer which GSRs and Type Rs are infamous for. The SS damper is 448f 336r but the FLEX damper is 504f 224r but the dampers themselves are valved differnently. Plus they allow the shock height to be lowered and spring perch height to be lowered to retain spring preload. And they are 16 way adjustable to soften or firm up the damper. These can also run up to 2k higher pring rates without being revalved. Then there is the RA which has 2 sets of spring with 14kf and 10kr. << These dampers are WAY STIFF. These will make you feel firm and planted not like hard juddering which I think you are confusing as "a harsh ride".
