Oil Ring Problems????
I'm still trying to cure a 1 qt/100 mile oil consumption problem. I'm replacing the valve seals - when I get the right ones. But I'm still not convinced that the wrong valve seals would result in this much oil consumption. (I suspect that the Fel-pro seals installed in a recent head freshening may be the culprit).
Car has very good compression and leak down. That doesn't necessarily mean that the oil rings are good.
Previous owner says it didn't use oil.
Has anybody experienced any oil ring problems?

1 qt/100 miles???? jesus you gotta be shittin me, im burning 2 quarts every 2500 miles or so, and i thought mine was bad!!! my leakdown #'s were all under 10% and my compression was extremely low (weird, huh?) it may be the rings, i would take off the head and inspect the cyl walls, thats wat im doin
My ITR did the same.
some things to tell you what may be the cause of the oil loss:
It its valves, it will smoke at idle the most (leakdown should show bad)
If its oil rings it will smoke only at higher RPM and loads (Compression AND leakdown will show good here)
If its COMPRESSION rings.. I think it will smoke mostly at start (like starting from a stop light) (Compression will show bad here)
Also make sure your PCV is not plugged and in good shape.. it COULD be blowing into the intake, and burning out....
