Oil Leak Help
My 98 GSR has been leaking oil pretty bad near the head gasket on the passenger side. At first I was thinking it was actually the head gasket since I can't seem to find any oil above where the head/block come together. However, last night I took a look at this thread on team-integra "http://www.team-integra.net/sections/articles/showArticle.asp?ArticleID=576" and found that the cam seal is a more likely source of the oil. Has anyone else had oil leaking in the area of the attached picture? What did you replace to solve the problem? Thanks.

check the bottom bolt of the distributor see if theres oil on there if so its the distributor seal or it could be the vtec solnoid seal/cam seal. usually when your seals leak oil, the oil comes from the back of the engine to the front and drips down.
cover your vin number.
cover your vin number.

I have a leak somewhere in that area too. From everything I read its most likely the cam seal. I replaced vtec solenoid gasket, didnt help. I plan on doing cam seal soon.

Re: Oil Leak Help (98GreenTegGSR)
hey man i have that same problem for a while now. A few weeks ago i changed the cam seal or plug as they call it at the dealer, i also changed the vtec solenoid seal and the spool seal which are all in the same area and used hondabond to seal them all. The next day i see no oil then a few days ago i changed my oil and what do i see some oil leaking out of the same spot as your pic. I work at autozone and i work with a mechanic and i asked them if the head gasket coul leak oil on the outside and he said yes it can so im assuming its the headgasket since i have replaced all the seal in the area and the oil is still coming from that one spot. well let me know if you find anything out but believe me you are not alone, i had a customer the other day with a 96 ls and he had the exact problem.
