OBD2 to OBD1 help
Alright, so I have a similar post to this, but this post will fully address the problem.
I have a 1996 GSR engine (B18C1), tranny, and ECU, that I'll be swapping into a 1995 RS chassis.
To my understanding, the RS is OBD1, so what would I need to do to make the OBD2 setup work in the RS OR what would I need to do to convert my GSR setup to OBD1?

Where do you think I would find that ECU and for about how much?
Are you sure the GSR engine will plug right into the RS harnesses as well?
If so, this will make my swap a lot easier...

OBD-1 P72's are commonly available here at our very own hondamarketplace.com but prices vary.
I am absolutely 100% positive your engine harness will plug into the RS chassis harness.

not totally correct, i just did a similiar thing, i put a 99 ls engine into a 95 ls chassis and a couple plugs were different, i need to use my 95 ecu, dizzy, and fuel injectors, and alternator. the plugs on those parts from the 99 were different from my 95 and off the top of my head that was all that was different and everything else just plugged right up...

He's using an OBD-2 motor and an OBD-2 engine harness. You don't have to change the dizzy, injectors, or alternator for this to work. All you have to do is put the motor in and plug it up. I've done this swap far too many times to be mistaken about it. If he were using an OBD-1 engine harness on an OBD-2 engine there would indeed be plug issues, but that is not the case.
One thing I did overlook is the VTEC/knock sensor/IAB wiring. Fortunately there are about a bazillion write-ups on this and it's really really easy.

actually if you read it carefully he is saying that he HAS an OBD2 engine swap that he is putting into a 1995 chassis which a 1995 car is OBD1 NOT OBD2... he is using an OBD2 engine and putting it into an OBD1 chassis still using the wire harness from the 95 OBD1 chassis

But what I fail to understand is why you would swap engine harnesses when you have a perfectly good harness already on the engine with everything already plugged up and ready to go. In his other thread he stated that his GSR is up and running but with a bent frame and that he's swapping to get a straighter shell. In this case using the OBD-1 engine harness is a classic example of overcomplicating something that's very simple from the get go, especially considering the OBD-2 engine harness will plug right into any DC/EG chassis harness with no issues whatsoever.
ooooh, now i see, see i didnt know he had another thread open, all i saw was that he is putting an OBD2 motor into an OBD1 shell and using the harness from that OBD1. but yah if thats the case then the OBD2 wiring would plug right up but then he could also just use the OBD1 harness and have to change to OBD1 dizzy, injectors, alternator. either way would work, but to you kendall, i apalogize, i didnt know he had another thread open about this same thing...
