Default obd1 obd2?

how do u check if a gsr engine is obd1 or obd2 just by looking at the motor? sorry for such a noob question, i tried searching but wasnt successful, thank u for ur time

one way is by looking at the head stamp. should tell you the year.

2 o2 sensors means OBD2

stamping on the head is the best way, but you can look at injector plugs, dizzy plugs all kinds of things, but if you have a 94+ teg you can you the everything including the harness it all plugs up minus the computer

well because we are swapping a gsr engine into a civic and i wanted to know if it was obd1 or obd2.

the engine is stamped 96 and has one dizzy plug, obd1 maybe?

make sure you have a crank angle sensor on the oil pump! necessary for obd2

just search the specs of your car... theres a **** load of specs on tegs.. but as previosly stated its mostly by the o2 sensors
