im currently building my first lsvtec. I have an obd1 94 integra. I recently bought a b18b1 from a 96 (obd2) integra to start building my bottom end. I am wondering if it matters that the motor and the harness already in the car are 2 different systems. Im also wondering what the obd1 to obd2 conversion harnesses are used for?? I will be running a hondada obd1 computer. Can anyone please help before i get too far into this project and find out it wont work.

Not in an Integra.
If you use just the block from the OBD-2 car, then you'll be keeping everything OBD-1 as there are no differences in the blocks. If you use the complete motor, then there will be some plug differences on the newer motor that will either require an OBD-2 harness, or modifications to your existing harness, but both harnesses plug into the chassis harness using the same plugs in the same locations, so regardless of what you do with the motor, the car will still keep it's original OBD-1 ECU plugs and you won't need to be buying any conversion harnesses.

so the block has all the same sensors? What sensors besides the vtec solenoid and the oil pressure switch do an vtec obd2 head have that a ls obd1 dont. This is the first time i've ever dealt with vtec and it is really confusing. I've spent 5 hours reading all the info that i could find on the search pages.
I just blew my 94 b18b and picked up a 96 as well. All i did to get evertyhing to hook up was reuse my 94 intake manifold, and then reuse my existing engine harness. Everything works fine, the only difference was the location of the PCV, and the fact that the OBDI motor had a black box
