well I parked last night for maybe 20 min. when I hop in and start it and go to put in in reverse the shifter felt really stiff and hard to move. I finally get it into reverse but its only like half way in and in popped out as soon as started moving. I then try to put in first but the shifter is stuck, I try to push on it real hard to get it back to neutral but it wont go, after like 30 min of messing with it I decide to just wail on it until it breaks, it finally goes back to neutral and goes into 1-5 perfectly, but always gets stuck halfway in reverse, any help is welcome. (2001 ls-turbo) thanks.

lol im playin take off the boot maybe some thing is restricting u from moving the shifter broken metal piece something of that sort

 

Maybe it is the slave cylinder or master cylinder? My car wont go into reverse right away, when i put it in, it pops out, then I have to do it again, its like i have to push the car back before I go into reverse, kinda weird

 

Check your linkage, then make sure the bolt that holds the reverse gear shaft is tight. After that its most likely something internal.

 

yea im gonna get it up on the lift at my house or at school in the next few days. I will check the linkage and how its moving, Im just really hoping its not internal.

Anymore ideas?
