no o2 sensor
just noticed my teg is missing the primary o2 sensor, and here i had thought the bad idle was from lack of a tune, but will nonetheless need to be done anyway... basically i just bought the car, fully built ls/vtec. why would the mechanic have left the o2 sensor absent? my question, is there any benefit to this?
The mechanic left it absent because it's a $60 part, and he probably wasn't asked nor paid to do it.
Yes. It is important. You're probably running rich, and at best, getting bad gas mileage. Probably horrible.
Go to Autozone, and buy one.

when i say mechanic, as in, guy who built my motor... i dont think im running rich, getting 25 mpg on a completely built motor. i know its important, i wouldnt pass emissions without one.

What kind of exhaust do you have on the car?.... I bought my teg about 3 weeks ago and noticed a check engine light due to a missing 02 sensor due to the guy completely eliminating the cat. Is the cat still there?
**edit**
Sorry just noticed you said the primary...... Just go and get the o2 sensor and slap it on
