Default No compression on b20 vtec

Got a b20 vtec that has machined crank new bearings New piston rings and have been clocked correctly. The head is a b16 and was machined with ferra flat faced valves and they were seated. A new head gasket with arp head studs. After I put the swap in it didn’t start did a compression test and no compression on all 4 cylinders. I did a leak down test and either the exhaust valve would blow air or the intake valve would blow are I had the at going through it it and I spun the motor by hand and still it was air coming from one or the other. Do you think my cam lobes are off?

Ditto check timing. Check your rotor make sure it’s pointed at sparkplug #1 when it’s at TDC.

And make sure your valves aren’t too tight/loose measure with feeler gauge .006-.007in on intake and .007-.008in on exhaust. Once you get it running warm it up to normal operating temp redo your valve lash while warm.

You are not supposed to adjust the valve lash after the engine is warmed up! always do it cold. when hot, the metal expands and when you're working on it it's going to cool down and settings will change.

I like to use engine assembly molly lube when doing the valve lash! you can feel the drag better than when using engine oil! I use Lucas brand.

Duly noted. Mayb that’s why my valves are tapping but never had a problem with my previous build. As said in my last thread I will still be replacing my rockers and lmas and try to narrow down my vtec issues.

Could possibly be a bent valve since they were tight and piston to valve caused it to hit each other. Do another leak since you have them adjusted correctly and see what you find out.
