Default new setup

well i was going to spend 12 hudered on building my head but, whats the point? on a stock engine it would be wasting my time, i did a little research and figured out the power comes from the bottom end so im going to do type r pistons to raise the compression higher, if im not mistaken thats what you need to lower your miles and then im going to upgrade the valvetrain with all new retainers and such new seals , gaskets then ill cam it itr, vtec contoller, and chip it for 9k rpms not a bad idea huh?? give me your thoughts ive got about 2 grand to do this

Me thinks you should start doing much reading and research in the all motor forum.

And to actually answer your question, I think its a terrible idea. Your engine is doomed to have a very short life if this is how you intend to modify it. You obviously have no clue what any of those things listed does, or you would know that there is no need to both tune with a chip and a vtec controller...

And I'll start you on the right path a little bit. Its a Honda. The secret to power is in the head, not the block, especially for a bvtec (which a 9k redline implies).

His screen name could be "ImaF'nRetard" he still knows what he's talking about.

And to "lower your miles" in the block you would need the pistons, rings, bore or at least a hone, main bearings, rod bearings, oil pump, gaskets, seals, etc, which gets expensive quick, especially if you have someone else do the work.

Yes your post wasn't really clear at all. Some punctuation would have helped. And I can assure you, TN definitely knows what he's talking about.
