need help tuning vtec controller
started playing with the controller and am trying to have the vtec kick in earlier but its running like **** any one know about these controllers i got a 96 gsr
If you aren't tuning these on a dyno, you're simply making blind adjustments with no way of knowing what effects your adjustments are having. These are intended to be legitimate tuning tools, not something to play around with.

Not really, because each engine is slightly unique, and therefore each requires its own settings.

Honestly, I have to say that the Vafc controller cannot be tuned blindly...you have to get your car onto the dyno....before that just get the basics...header, intake manifold, perhaps chipped ecu, cams, and then get to your local shop to get her tuned.
yep thats exactly what im planning to do on mine install basics and get her tune.. i had a question i have a p28 chipped with crome and when i install it in my gsr motor the thing dies out on me its like it needs some gas or something. the dude i bought it from told me it was tune on some 440cc injectors i have stock. could that be the problem why my car dies out as soon as i turn it on? i mean with my p72 ecu it works great...

or you could runa wideband O2 kit (innovative LC-1) and plug that into a laptop and get the tuning pretty close, but not perfect without data logging. I had that in my old car, but its a two person job to tune it. and vtec on the low end usually doesn't' help much
and for the injector question, yes it would effect how your fuel delivery is. when you program a chip and tell it you have 440 injectors instead of 240, it will only pulse for about half the time, so realistically you are only getting half the fuel you need, so either get a new chip burned or find some DSM 440 injectors to run with it so it will actually drive.
