Need Help identifying engine
I recently found on here in Arizona very clean and well taken care off. It does not have a B18 engine. It has a B20b block with what looks like an old prelude head or valve cover. Can anyone help me in identifying this engine. I'm having a hard time posting a photo. I can email the photos to anyone who can help. THANKS. [IMG][/IMG]

It looks very similar. How can I be sure of what head it is? Is there any code or number on the head that i can look at and see what it is?
it doesn't matter. all CRV heads ARE LS heads, except for a VERY VERY few P8R heads (as opposed to the CRV/LS PR4). the P8R basically has larger valves from a VTEC head or something (not sure if they're the same shaft size, but they are the same head diameter) and better ports i believe as well. otherwise, all '92-'01 RS/LS/GS/SE Integras and all '97-'00 CRVs USDM AND JDM have the exact same heads and all internal parts except the exhaust cam, which is smaller on '97-'98 CRVs.
so basically you're looking at a stock B20.

The Seller does not know anything about honda/acura. He's had the car for 3 years and all he did to it was put headers a bolt on exhaust and some fog lights. He has not done anything else to it. He bought it with that engine in it.
He is asking $3700 for it. Is that too much? It's a 1994 integra very clean. Good body work, good paint.
Thanks for all your help.

agreed, if the car itself is in nice shape. although the B20 will probably feel pretty sh!tty since the power really dies after only 5500-6000rpm. of course, the LS feels sh!tty, too, in stock form, but i'd love to have a 2.0L bottom under a well-built LS head. that extra displacement would make power come on a lot sooner, and some nice cams would still make top end bang.

Im Confused, how would an LS head help, dont u mean a vtec head or somthing??</TD></TR></TABLE>
what he is trying to state is that if there was a built LS head on the b20, it would be great. due to the fact there is more torque since there is more displacement.

correct
. right now i'm running an overdone head on a stock 185k mile LS bottom and i'm just DYING to either rebuild the LS for higher revs and higher compression and bigger pistons or just get a fresh B20 block and stay at 7000rpm. stock B20's and LS's and indeed most engines on the market run out of oomph before they get to their redlines. even VTEC owners will agree that their engines fall off, albeit at higher engine speeds since their redlines are higher to begin with. good cams are a must to solve this.
or you can turbo it and you won't have to hit redline to kick @$$. <--my personal solution
