Engine Identity/ B20 for $150!?!
I was in the pick n pull today and I found a late 80s early 90s prelude (the style before the last one) with an engine that had what appeared to be an LS head with a block stamped B20A5. I thought Holy **** is this a B20 motor with an LS head? SO my question is: IS IT?!? I can get the whole thing for like $150 is this a B20 or did the lude come with a similar engine? Thanks

I'm pretty sure that's the one B series motor that isn't like the rest of them.
It's like a bastard son or something, and it's not worth the money.

ok so here is the real question is it a real B-series block? Will a B16 head bolt to it like it would to a CRV block?

You don't want the b20a5 at ALL!!! It has a horrible rod/stroke. They achieved the 2liter status using the stroke and not the bore as in the b20's out of the crv. From what I understand of them they are completely worthless motors. Just my two cents. Good luck.

Don't listen to what anyone tells you about this engine. It is a piece of ****. It is hondas worste motor. Don't use the crank in another setup because its not worthe the buildup. Get a b20b 0r z or a b18.
