Need help.
trying to wire up my turbo timer and i ran into some issues. first off i have a 96 ls integra i have a greddy turbo timer but when i ran the wires i have found all the spots that i needed for the wires to be ran to but i found some sort of a aftermarket alarm system that will not let my car start without it in there but should i wire it up to that or? any help would be awsome!!! here are some pictures that should help with the problem

what good is a turbo timer? all it does is allow your engine, which is already hot, to continue to run, not getting any cooler, and there is no airflow to even remotely help cool it down.

well turbo timer is a good product, first off i had a turbo hatchback civic and every time id step on it, it wud get hot so i waited a 1min till it cooled down then shut off the car, this is to allow the oil to run threw the turbo and cool it down a bit, a turbo timer is set to a time when to shut off the engine, its just to run oil through the turbo and it does help, ps i had an oil cooler as well, its a must to let turbo car run to cool down

it cools the TURBO PERIOD! think of it this way say ive been stepping on my car the whole day, then i pull into my drive way,ok now my turbo is super hot and so is the oil in there, if i shut it off right away its still gonna be hot and the cooler oil isnt gonna run threw the turbo cuz car is off, this is why you let it run a while, and if you have an oil cooler like i did its even more effective, and i hope you know that oil runs threw the turbo as well not just "gases" the internals of the turbo need to cool down, and oil does cool down, why do we have oil coolers then?? oil doesnt stay in one place of the motor is circlates which cools it down a bit, again oil cooler more effective

man you dont get it , i know your motor is good and still runs and lasts long, its about the life of the turbo! its made out of cast iron , so if its too hot it will crack, so if you let it run a lil bit too cool down it will increase the turbos life,
Those 2 black wires coming out of the alarm should be hooked to the ignition after the white connector. Usually you just cut the oem ignition wire in half and run one of those black wires to each side (to install the kill switch), so if you connect those 2 black wires it should be ok and start fine with the alarm taken out.

I don’t think that kid understands what a turbo timer does. I had one on my talon. You are not going to notice any 'difference' in power or anything. it is just a preventative measure to help protect your turbo and ensure longevity of it. It is just to cool the turbo down. Everything really needed to explain it simply has been said. Sure you could run your turbo with out it and never have problems, same goes for a rev limiter but would you run without one of those? Most people wouldn’t, might as well do all necessary precautions so you can hopefully eliminate problems down the road.
As far the alarm cant you just bypass it or take the fuses out assuming you don’t want the alarm? If you did want it then I am unsure.

dude i'm not a expletiveing kid i'm older than you, and i'm not a expletiveing idiot, i know what a turbo timer does, its not a performance part, i know that. but with 250,000 miles on stock, how much longer do i need it to last? know what i mean. thats alot of miles and no cool down, huh? and it spools 12 psi. on a daily basis. i do know that it "helps" cool the turbo down, but like i have posted 3 times now, its my opinion.
Sorry to 'misunderstand' you, my fault.
I was boostin 22 psi ony my Talon and i liked the 'added comfort' of the turbo timer. I guess to each his own.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turbo_timer in there it says that it can be eliminated by not boosting the last few minutes of run time. and i don't usually boost in my developement on my way home from work, at night. <TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by mike5809 »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">I guess to each his own.</TD></TR></TABLE> agreed.
