need help!

Default need help!

just bought a teg last tuesday.

i'm getting 2 codes out of the CEL.

8 TDC - top dead centre sensor

23 - knock sensor

not sure what i'm supposed to do with these or if my car is at risk.

any help would be appreciated.

Well I never heard of the #8 code myself, I'd say check out your knock sensor first, maybe thats messing up the other one.... maybe someone else knows better... free bump, Good Luck

knock sensor is nothing to worried about i'm told..

the other means my pistons are being fully extended... which is not good i'm told but it's nothing to worry about as long as i treat her nicely...

would just like some other opinions..

RS's had knock sensors? I thought only VTEC motors had them.

On the knock sensor in my b18c was loose causing it to rattle and tell the ecu the motor was knocking (i guess). Tighten it up and see what happens, i think its a 27mm deep-wheel socket. Mabye your timing is off..causing the code 8...worth a try.

TDC = bad sensor inside distributor or just timing is way off

replace dist. that should take care of the tdc code, as for knock sensor code. your car is an rs it shouldnt pull a KS code unless you are running a vtec ecu but if that were the case u would also get code 22 vtec pressure switch. check again two slow blinks and 3 fast blinks.........get some1 else to look at it also
