need desperate help with vtec
i have a 90 4 door integra with a b16a head on it and b16a pistons it was built by me it is my first motor build I had intercrew a tuner shop look at it to just tune it up and weld a knock sensor on and visually check everything after i was done it feels like its fast but when i went to the track it ran a shitty 15.832 consistently with a consistent reaction time my mph was 90 mph in the 1/4 mile i dont know why it was running so bad i have a perfect clutch and i shifted perfect but an lsvtec shouldnt run those times
i have a few ideas of what it could be, it blew white smoke at the track my freinds said it looked like a BBQ after i put 112 octane in it they said the smoke got more clear
also my car has a messed up speedo reading it says 100 when im going 75
or it could be the timing if someyone could tell me the correct way to time a dohc vtec it would help
ps it throws no codes
what the hell could it be
White smoke is usually a blown head gasket. Timing is just like timing any other car, use the timing liught and the correct marks you will be fine.
You need to post you time slips that way the drag guys can see if there was a driving problem. Did you run that time on street tires? Did you lower the PSI on the tires?
