MSD Ignition Question
Take apart the bottom. Make holes in the plate and put two brackets on the box with screws and bolts. Screw the box back to the plate on all four corners. I displaced the ABS control black box to another bolt to the side and put the MSD where that box was. Cut about one inch of hose and slice it. Wrap that around the abs hard line so it acts as a vibration dampener. The box makes a small buzzing noise so you don't want it inside your car.

Do you have any more up close pics? I think I want to try to mount mine like this.

mine is mounted at the firewall, too. and the external coil is on a fabricated metal piece that sits on the upper chasis under the CAI on the left, so the wire routes under the CAI. also i do hear like a little hum. ignition plus my CAI together make different harmonies at different RPMs i love it. MSD help my car up the gas mileage. and because i drive on the freeways a lot i barely have to tap the gas at 5th to keep my car moving, even on the uphills where most tegs have problems.
I test-fitted a SCI box tonight on my OBD-1 GS-R. It'll clear the ABS pump. It's perfectly snug behind the pump.
I'm gonna have to split the loom and reroute the ABS relay box wiring and that's pretty much it except for fabricating a mounting plate and bracket for the MSD box.
The Blaster 2 coil is gonna be an issue b/c I have a HID ballast, OBD-1 ABS pump, and possibly a stock airbox to consider as well. Maybe I won't even mess with coil tuning and just go straight to running the HVC-2 coil.
Later on, I want to switch to a Digital 6+. That'll will for sure have to be placed in-cabin.

Moisture Problems? Arent these things supposed to be made for being under the hood?

i dunno my car ran like **** from combo of msd and cai in the rain. i moved the msd to the passanger foot area and the cai to my trunk.
dropped the stock intake back on and no problems with that yet,

mine is mounted on the passenger side kick panel. it was a quick and easy install and it is pretty much out of the way. as far as noise goes, if i'm listening to the radio or a cd then i don't even know it's there. good luck.
As requested, close up pics.
One bracket I used was for the ABS fuse box. Not sure where I got the other one. Maybe they were both for the fuse box but I bent them to work. I cut the snaps that held the MSD box together and separated the bottom plate. Then drilled it as needed for the brackets and attached them. Used 4 bolts after that to put the box back together and then bolted the brackets to the car.
The third pic shows where I moved the fuse box. It is only attached by the top screw but holds well.
Don't forget the spliced rubber tube to put over the abs line under the box so it doesn't eat it away when the car vibrates.

I stuck a screw in the top left MSD hole into an airbox screw hole (lol) to hold it down. And for the bottom left, I zip tied the hole to a wire plug next to the ABS. It's wedged between my intake and ABS and it's not going anywhere.</TD></TR></TABLE>did something similar but made a custom solid bracket in that location which mounts it.
