MSD Ignition box and coil mounting location?
Where the hell is a good spot to mount these? There is basically no room left in the engine compartment.
If i squeeze it into the firewall behind the intake manifold, how do you mount the rubber feet? If you drill a hole, how do you get a nut on the bolt to fasten them? Or should I forget the shock absorbing feet and just sheet metal screw the stuff down?

The box goes on the right side of the battery, the coil goes on the shock tower after you bend half a wire bracket out of the way... you're right, it really doesn't want to fit inside of there anywhere.

I installed the box inside my car, by the passenger side center console.. by the ashtray.. ran the wires out the firewall... the blaster ss, I mounted next to the ABS fuse box (thats as close to the distributor as I could get)...

how did you secure them? With the bolts and nuts holding the rubber feet in or did you use sheet metal screws without nuts?

The MSD won't really do anything for you until you are making 200whp or so. The stock ignition is fine for anything below that. However, since I got mine for really cheap I installed it anyways and I only noticed a little bit better idle. I want to eventually take it out and sell it but I'm too lazy right now. I initially wanted to make sure I got good spark since I am running R cams.
I say, if you are on a budget and under 200whp, don't waste your money. Make it a very low priority for now. Good luck!

Re: MSD Ignition box and coil mounting location? (Gee3)
I mounted my blaster ss coil right under the headlight bulbs, right next to the overflow for the radiator. Fits nice and snug and out of the way. The 6A box, I mounted under my intake. I have the Iceman, and had to custom fabricate a piece of metal which I used to mount it. It look great.
