mod question
i want to get the mugen headers from kingmotorsports.com for my DA... the thing is that my DA has a 94 B18B, could the 97+ mugen headers fit on my DA?
i just need a confirmation. that's all.

wait thats it? if that was the case, couldn't i just have custom piping to extend the length b/t the cat and the header piping? so practically in other words, yeah, i can fit the 97-01 mugen headers to my 94 block?
As a general rule, any b-series header will bolt onto any b-series engine. There are a couple of exceptions, such as, any B18A/B/C header can bolt onto a B16A (you will notice a lot of room under the oil pan) but it is harder to get a B16A header to fit onto a B18 because the oil pan will get in the way. This may not happen everytime with every B16 combo, but I have heard of it happening with people trying to use a 99-00 Civic Si header with a 94+ GSR.
Anyway, that said, you will be able to use the Mugen 4-1 Type R header for your B18B, as long as you get the piping and the collector mated to your cat/test pipe with the help of a decent welder. The only problem you will run into is that most 4-1 headers hit the front crossmember on the DA, so you will have to cut out a chunk of crossmember or buy a lower crossmember (i.e. Full Race, etc). If for some reason you run into an oil pan/header conflict, you could also try switching to a gsr oil pan, which may provide better clearance.
Lastly, the DA is a bitch to work on in terms of getting a 1 piece header into the tiny engine bay. I had to put the top part of my 2 piece 4-2-1 in upside down and twist it around to get it on. So you should probably plan on removing some radiator hoses and maybe even loosening the fan in order to maneuver a 4-1 in there.

arite, i see what you mean, but what i don't get is the "crossmember" piece, can i find that part in the Haynes Manual? typically how much is the gsr oil pan? and for putting the header in, couldn't i just have dissassemble the front bumper, radiator, hoses, etc. in order to have a easy secure fit?

The crossmember is the black metal piece that you will see running under your front bumper and radiator. It is in these pictures, that I got off of g2guru on http://www.g2ic.com. You can search on there about notching the crossmember and find more info. Anyway, here are the pics, he is using a Jun header in these:

If you go on g2ic.com and search under g2guru, you can click on his homepage, which links you to his imagestation account, and has a lot more pics of the crossmember install and his header.
As for the o2 sensor, the Mugen header has an o2 sensor in the collector, just like the LS. The one problem besides the xmember fitting and needing to either remove or move around the rad hoses, rad, and fan when installing, is that the Mugen collector is probably bigger than a stock cat flange, so you may need to investigate and get a larger diameter flange welded onto the stock cat, or get a high flow one made. I am pretty sure the Mugen collector is 2.5", as opposed to the 2 inch one for USDM headers and the cat, so you will need somebody to make a new flange on a high flow cat to get the best gains. Contact Dave at SMSP on this board, he does it all the time.

No Problem.
