Default ls vtec question

i know this is kinda of a noobie question but if i run a usdm b16 head on a ls block with stock internals, aem cai, itr header, skunk 2 stage 1 cams, skunk 2 cam gears, a p28 chipped or hondata s100, and greedy evo 2 exhaust as a daily driver how long will this motor last me and how reliable will it be. as long as i have a proper build done should this last me as long as a gsr. i'm not building a race motor just a quick daily driver if there are any changes i need to make it more reliable let me know. thanx for ur input in advance.

I heard that to make it run reliable u have to drill oil tap lines for the vtec in the ls block, and/or block it up, but some guy from portland over here runs ls/vtec with 75 shot nos and he's been around for a bit so he's fine-

Ive had mine for about 2000 miles.

hondata p72 stock internals and head except for cam gears, and I havent had any problem, just upgrade to gsr oil and water pump, and make sure you run a feed line to the head for oil, other then that, you should be gravey to giver up to 72000 rpm''s

if u change out the oil and water pump u will need a vtec timing belt. I just used my ls oil and water pump with a ls timing belt.

How did you get a b16 timing belt to fit? That had to have been mighty tight. Anyways, I've had my lsvtec in my car for 4 1/2 years and haven't had too many problems. I blew an oil line shortly after I built it but luckily only lost about 1/4 of a quart. Thats about the biggest problem. I drive my car every day and still runs like a champ(or maybe a chump I don't know).

i think if you want VTEC, just spend the whole nine yards and buy yourself a whole new motor (AKA----B16, B18C1, B18C(JDM Type R), B18C5)! why spend the money on something that wont last 150,000 miles with just oil changes and spark plug changes?!?!?!?

are u just talk out the side of your head or have u had a bad experience with a ls vtec build. i understand that gsr are most likely more reliable but i'm using all stock internals except for the cams other than than the motor is still made with same old everlasting honda parts as a gsr

It was GSR timing belt, water pump, oil pump and full gasket set from Honda, haha my bad.
