ls vtec leaking
anyone have any problem with the cam seal that is leaking? on my lsv it wont stop leaking from the camshaft seal where the cam gears are. i change the saels twice and it wont stop. any ideas why it wont stop?

yea did u use any bond on top of the cam cap at both ends? maybe u forgot that. It makes the valve cover not sealed properly if u forgot to put the honda bond. i didnt have any honda bond so i used gasket maker instead. i think u sed too much, u can see it in this picture. It's orange in color and it's at the ends of my valve cover on the left side
dude, where's the vtec? lol According to helms, you aren't suppose to use any kind of sealant on those seals. You are only suppose to put rtv on the underside of the cam caps that go over the seals.
I would say next time you install them, make sure you clean the cam cap and the seat for that seal with acetone and make sure it's free from any oil.

Ask any acura or honda technician and they will tell you to throw honda-bond all over the cam seal. experience wins over a manual, they did update the seal, but even the updated seal will eventually leak.

it is not the cam cap that im having problems with is the other side where the cam gears are. under the valve cover when the car is at idle it slowy leak and starts to drop and when you run it it spin to the cam gear and its all over the motor.
