Default Ls/Vtec

I am considering of doing the infamous Ls/Vtec mod and was wondering whats the good and bad points were and maybe it would be better to do a gsr swap?

I'm going LS/V reguardless. Everything for me was cheap. LS/V is NOT a reliable motor. What isn't there, shouldn't be there(the VTEC head). I'm boosting also, so my motor will take alot of beatings. An LS/V motor will last only about 20-30k depending on your setup. LS/V really doesn't have that much life in it, but oh wells. Only a dragger for me. Daily driving is not recommended.

edit: btw, my ls/vtec (with a stock b18b bottom and stock gsr head) has ran flawlessly for the past 14 1/2 months/15k miles.

First off, you should do a search. Since this is covered almost every day.

Second,
<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by jaydeemmmm &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">I'm going LS/V reguardless. I'm pretty sure you have no idea what you are talking about. If it's done right, it can last. You say what isn't there, shouldn't be there. Turbo was never meant for a honda motor, but people do it. And they do it reliably.

Just search a little bit for info.

would it be cheaper and more effective to put in h22 of a gsr motor. Thats only if the ls/vtec is not reliable the way that i heard about how to do it was from g2ic.com

All Motor section has alot on this topic.

Make sure to Hone the block while you have it apart. Nothing worse than a car that smokes like a crackhead.

Yes, but you will come out with a compression ratio with so high of a number, you will not be able to run on 91-93 without smoking. Wheres your management? If you are running a hack, it will run, but not super long. You will also go through gas alot more than you think.

Just me, but why not run a B16 piston in there?
