I need a list of everything I'll need to do a head swap on my 99Ls to make it Vtec. I know I'll need the B16a head and cams/camgears but what else am I looking at? I heard I could avoid a new wiring harness by running a seperate wire for the vtec, how would I go about doing this? Please provide any information possible. Thanks!

IF you want a safe daily driving ls vtec set up....
Get new gsr oil pump, new gsr water pump, new gsr timing belt.
ARP rod bolts, civic type r pistons, fuel pressure regulator, gsr or b16 ecu.

I did my swap last week i regreted not buying some civic type r pistons and arp rod before i throw everything in. Now i have to take everything back out again. What a bitch.

My mode: ls block, b16 head, type r camshafts, type r manifold, port and polish gsr throttle body, msd ignitions, aem cold air intake, act six puck racing clutch, dc 4-2-1 header, and other ****. Pushing about 195 hp. smoking a type r , gsr and evil like nothinggggg.

 

why do you need ctr pistons? the higher compression would be nice, but i hardly think that it is needed.

 

By evil do you mean Evo? and if so, id love to see you smoke one, my R swapped hatch with bolt ons and tuning stayed nose to nose with one till the end of 3rd. and i doubt your ls/vtec is smokeing hype R's

 

Will an LS-VTEC have the redline of a B16 or the B18? I want to build a turbo B18b because of the cheaper price compared to that of a B18c but the B18b has the lower redline. Also are there any differences between B18b and B18c blocks? Thanks for your help.
