LS-VTEC
you didnt mention an
H22A
or
K20
but if you are interested on an ls/vtec here are some links that will help you out
http://www.theoldone.com
http://www.drt.com
http://www.importbuilders.com
http://www.c-speedracing.com
so if you are planning on doing it right just be prepared to spend a pretty penny
cause its more expensive than a regular swap but its worth every penny of it..

i have an ls/vtec with 20,000 miles on it. i am using mostly stock honda parts. it has 11.3:1 compression and revs to 8500 daily. i have had no problems out of it. so i dont see why people say that they are so unreliable. if you have someone who knows how to build it, you should have no problems.
nobody mentioned H22A becuase its incredibly ******* heavy for a teg. and if you do this swap id reccomend sticking to strictly drag racing(or so thats what ive heard?).
If I had the choice of LS/Vtec or LS/Turbo, I would pick Turbo everytime.
Both can be reliable if built and maintained correctly. I've herd alot of horror stories about LS/Vtec and I party buy in on the hype against them. Alot of the people hosting opinions have no experience with either, including me.

what is the "correct" or "proper" way of building an ls/v? aren't you supposed to build all engines the same way? i hope mine is proper. heres is my setup ready for assembly in a week:
ls block: honed, decked, hot-tanked
ls crank: polished
ls rods: magnafluxed, reconditioned
ARP rod bolts: installed by machine shop
pr3 pistons: deburred
ACL bearings: std, brand new, thrust washers included
OEM head gasket: only using 2-layers
b16a head: drilled and tapped by machine shop, checked for warpage
gsr water pump: new
gsr oil pump: new
gsr timing belt: new
Hastings rings: new, std. bore.
something i have yet to decide on: using new OEM gsr rod bolts or going with ARP head stud kit, any opinions?
what do you guys think? correct or incorrect?

deffinatly invest in the ARP bolt kit. most people who use stock bolt kits end up blowing headgaskets. you've invested this much money another 100 bucks isnt gonna do your pocket anymore dammage. its just cheap insurance.
