LS Vtec
Ok i have a 94 LS and it has milage out the *** and im about due for a new motor and i have been contemplating going LSvtech but i have heard that they arent worth the trouble so up until a few days ago i decided not to, but a friend of mine knows a good fellow thats about finished building a motor and is selling it for a pretty decent price. So i want to ask whats the major problem with LsVtech and how can it be avoided??
thanks in advance..
thanks in advance..
Just make sure its built right... I havent had any problems with mine. But I know it was built by a reputable shop that knows what they are doing... Bottom line,, do it once do it right, and dont cheap it out. Afterall, we all know that we get what we pay for right?
If your buying it just because its a good price remember there will always be another motor. I would not recommend an LSvtec, above 6800 to 7000 rpm the pistons are not getting the proper amount of oil because the LS does not have oil squiters in the cylinders. Also LS rods are weak, the rod to stroke ratio is poor putting more stress on the rods.
