i not to sure but i u can run about 10 pounds on a stock ls. considering the motor is in top shape. c/r at like 9:1 or something and i think the rods will hood a decent amount of boost. i might be wrong. i wanna run a turbo on my 93 ls. the motor is in top shape for being so old.

psi isnt what determines if the block will hold...its a power limit of the insides (whp limit) ...ppl need to understand psi isnt universal in determining power....10 psi t28....not 10 psi t4

You don't have to build your block. BUt personally, i would. You really need to search and learn some more about this before actually doing it. Also, look around the Forced Induction section. As for what you need for a turbo, it depends on what you already have. There are kits that have everything to ones that require you to buy tons of other parts.

rephrase your question im not sure i understand it....exhaust and intake wont give you significant whp gains on a stock car....on modified applications (N/A , FI) it can be a crutch or an aid in making more power out of your setup

depends on how much boost you are pushing. stock ls can take anywhere from 5 to 7 lbs daily driven and 10 lbs occasionally but that all depends on the shape your engine is already in.

that rsx is making in the 600 hp range on 10 psi....tell me his stock ls or any stock honda will hold 600hp....i hope this helps you understand that you cant just say 10 psi because psi isnt universal for every turbo...that gt35r on 10 psi would send his stock ls to the junkyard....

"Smaller turbos require more power to produce a given boost level past a point and thus the system output, IE WHP is going to be lower. IAT is also higher with a smaller turbo working harder

its a matter of efficency

people assume that Turbos are free power. While they dont present nearly as much parasitic loss going about increasing overall power as superchargers do, restricting the exhaust so as to create positive pressure on the turbine and spin the turbo HAS TO, as a matter of physics effect crank torque and therefore WHP.

the amount it restricts the exhaust at a given RPM/boost/etc and the IAT at the compressor is where the power differential comes from."

i just read this post about the same idiot thing ppl do by saying x amoutn of psi...i thought this summed up everything pretty well.....credit to britishguy
