Default LS Build Questions ? ? ?

Hey guys.
I am getting a 93-94 Ls Block and trans for my 88 hatch for pretty cheap and the goal is to keep it low buget.

I have SiR II pistons I got for free with the bearings.
My question is I plan to put those in and honing the block and getting some cams ( street/strip -- But with good Hp numbers).

What else should I get to keep it safe for a 50 shot every once and a while and what cams do you all think is best.

Also keep in mind that all work is being done by me ( I am a mech for Volvo - 3 years exp. )

All posts would Help --- Thanks

you better get 81.5mm pistons cause i'm sure that's a pretty old block and you're gonna have to bore it out .5mm to make oem pistons fit sungly in.

Thats a problem cause I already have the pistons --- I got them for free.

The block only has 90K on it so I don't think it should be that bad --- Nothing a good honing shouldn't fix.

I had a Volvo with 285K on it and I honed the block and replaced the cracked piston and it held compression with all the other 3 cyls. So I think it should be ok. May people have done it.
