Default Lifter?

i just bought a 1990 integra rs with an ls swap. it has je pistons. the guy i bought it from said that when you first start the car you will hear a ticking sound. he siad it is because the pistons are new and are made out of a much denser metal than the block so it takes the pistons longer to expand than the block and that is why you hear a ticking at first. but the ticking doesn't always go away. my friend said he thinks its a lifter making the noise because the sound is coming from right under the valve cover next to the cam gears. HELP PLEASE!!!

I would try adjusting your valves, get a chilton or haynes and they'll have a nice walk through for it.

Just for future refrence, you don't have lifters, and your friend doesn't know as much as he thinks he knows.
