hey guys, I'm havin trouble with my DC Sports 4-2-1 header. Everytime I accelerate, I can hear air leakin from the header area...it seems as if the header is not on tight enough so there is a gap in between where air can escape. I thought this was the problem and I tightened all the bolts, but still no luck. I tried buying a new gasket, but that didn't help either. The sound of the car isn't very fluid/solid either because of this...which I detect is the air leak... any idea how to fix this? Thanks.

 

my friends LS did/does the same thing... we tightened everything down many times but still cant figure it out. We are thinking that it might just be the header design and the way the exhaust gases run through it.

 

True, but a friend of mine has the same header: DC Sports 4-2-1, but there's no leak at all. For my header, I occasionally have to tighten some of the screws again, because if not, it would make an awful growling sound, like the car is gonna die out...after tightening it, it would be better, but you can still hear air leakin out. Not sure what I should do...but I'm thinkin maybe the screw is stripped or somethin?

 

mine does not leak, it's just the sound it makes on mine at least...
