Default knock sensor question

i would be guessing the knock sensor is located under the intake manifold on a 94gsr and its a piece of block that is hold up onto the intake manifold, can a missing nut/screw/bolt cause the knock sensor to not work properly??

it work fine before, but i took apart my head a few weeks ago and i remember taking out a screw or bolt or somthing under neath the intake manifold and i might forgot to put it back and now my check engine light is on, i was wondering can that cause anything or is my knock sensor broken and need changing?? thanks

Are you taking about the intake manifold support? I normally remove those and I ahve never had a problem.
Do the ECU reset procedure and see if you get a code again.
make sure the connection is good. knock sensors are crazy sensitive, I have seen people have problems with them by just unpluging them

oh yeah probably my knock sensor is just loose or somthing, because the check engine light would not go on until i either drive agressively or iono when ever it wants, but yeah it doesn't go on all the time. and how do you reset the ECU. i tired unpluging the battery and plugging it back in but i doubt that would reset anything, can you tell me how you reset the ECU. thanks.

Disconnect the battery negative terminal , pull the ECU and back up fuses in the fuse box under the hood. Wait three minutes then put everything back and start the car , let it run for three minutes with out touching the gas pedal and it should clear the code and reset your ECU. You could simply have a failing knock sensor or it really is seeing knock under those load conditions. An easy way to test it is, run the car at 3000RPM for I believe a minute or two , if the code comes on you have a problem if not it is an intermitent code
